The Best Way to Shine a Military Footwear

Military footwear is made of leather that should be kept moisturized and shiny. In the old days, they would use anything that they had available to keep their boots shiny. Nowadays though, there are products on the market that are designed to shine leather, including military boots to keep them looking shiny and new.

  1. Use a scrub brush to remove the dirt and debris from the bottom and surface of your military boots. You should do this outside or over the sink so that the dirt does not make a mess in your house.

  2. Dry your boots with an old towel to remove any excess moisture.

  3. Apply the desired color of shoe polish to your military boot. The standard military boots are black. Use the color that matches the color of your military boots.

  4. Make sure that you have covered the entire surface of the boot with your shoe polish, paying close attention to any cracks or grooves to ensure that they are adequately filled in with the shoe polish.

  5. Wet an old T-shirt or rag slightly, and then dip a portion of your towel or rag into the shoe polish.

  6. Rub this moistened rag in a circular motion on the surface of your military boots to help to spread out the shoes polish evenly, and fill in all cracks and crevices so that you have a shiny and even application.

  7. Spray your boots with a spray bottle that has a fine mist setting on it, and spray them down ever so slightly so that they are only slightly damp.

  8. Buff your military boots with a clean and dry towel to remove the water and restore the shine to your military boots.
