Tips on Cleaning Hard Water Stains

Hard water stains are a common problem, especially for those that have water that is full of minerals. This deposit that is left on your sinks, faucets, bathtubs and toilets can look unsightly and be difficult to clean. There are some easy ways to clean them and prevent them from becoming bothersome again.

Vinegar:



  • Put some vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray it on the hard water stains, then scrub and rinse with warm water.

  • Mix vinegar with warm water. Using a rag, dip into the mixture and scrub the hard water stains.

  • Mix baking soda and vinegar. This will make a paste. Rub the paste onto the hard water stains, and let sit about 15 minutes. Scrub, then rinse.


 


Lemon:



  • Cut a lemon in half. Rub the lemon on the hard water stains. The acid in the lemon will remove the stains.

  • Squeeze lemon juice onto the hard water stains. Scrub with a rag, then rinse.


 


To keep hard water stains off your sinks and faucets, use a vinegar and baking soda paste to wipe them down after each use. Or you can just use vinegar and wipe them down after each use.
