Tips on Commercial Painting

Commercial painters are paid for painting and decorating houses and buildings across the world. Many people call in a commercial painter to paint their building because the average commercial painter has the tools and techniques to insure a professional quality job every time. It’s not hard to paint like a commercial painter, ensuring a successful paint job every time all boils down to learning these few simple painting tips.

Always take plenty of time to prepare

Preparation might be one of the most labor-intensive parts of painting, but it’s worth the effort. Before applying new paint to a surface, you must make sure that the surface has been thoroughly checked for blemishes and if you find blemishes, make sure you fix them with spackle or caulk. Sand the surface down then make sure it’s totally clean before applying a primer coat.  The primer coat must be applied and allowed to dry before you apply the paint.

Choose the right type of primer

Before buying any type of primer, make sure you read the label and verify that it’s going to be the right primer for the surface that you’re painting.

Take time choosing the right paint colors

One huge mistake that people make when painting a room in their home or office is choosing the wrong paint. To avoid this happening to you, make sure that you take home plenty of paint cards or paint samples from the paint store and take the time to hold those paint samples up to the wall and see how they look in that room.

Buy the right tools

Painting isn’t as expensive as you think it is. Make sure that you purchase the necessary tools to insure that you complete your painting job efficiently. Some of the tools that every commercial painter uses are: drop cloths, tarps, rollers, brushes, paint trays, step ladder, painting tape and coveralls to protect your clothes.
