Top 5 Indoor Golf Drills
Practicing indoor golf drills will help you perfect your game when the weather is not always compliant for you to play outdoors. There are five important drills that every golfer should work on to improve their game. They include distance, driving, putting, accuracy and pitching.
Distance Control
To work on your distance, place an item on the floor about 10 feet in front of you. Next, try to get the ball to reach that precise distance. At this stage the accuracy is not as important as the distance itself. Work on moving the items closer and further from you. This drill will help you reduce the number of putts you take.
Putting Drills
For this drill, set two large telephone directories in front of you. Place them so that you can hardly even fit your putter in between them. Next, put the golf ball between the two directories and work on your posture before making your stroke. Do this several times before actually putting.
Pitching Drill
You will need ample space for this drill. Practice either in the living room or basement. Place a towel on the floor and stand about 8 feet away. Use a close deliberate stroke, and make sure to keep your hands in front of the club-face. Attempt to get at least 40 balls into the towel. The key is to get the balls to land directly on the towel.
Driver Drill
The driving drill will help you work on lower body rotation. Sit in a straight back chair and spread your feet out, keeping them flat on the ground. Use a seven-iron for this drill and raise it over your head, resting the shaft across your neck. Keep this position for several seconds.
Accuracy Drills
