Types of Endurance Sports for Kids
It's important for kids to be active for at least an hour a day. This will teach them how to live a healthy lifestyle. There are several sports that kids can play to help them with their endurance. Most of these sports are pretty simple to play.
Running Sports
Kids might get bored from just running long distances so you need to get creative. Have them play a schoolyard game of tag. Designate an area where kids are allowed to run and start with one person being "it.” This means that the person who is “it” must tag another person with one hand to make them "it.” The goal of the game is to never be "it.” This makes kids run after each other to try and tag them. They’ll be getting exercise but still having fun by playing this game.
Soccer
Playing soccer involves a lot of running. Try finding a level grass surface to play on just in case the kids fall. They cold seriously injury themselves if they fall on a hard surface like concrete. Soccer is a very easy sport to learn that children of all ages will enjoy.
Basketball
You won't be running as much in basketball as you do in soccer, but children will still get plenty of exercise. Make sure you choose a basket that can be lowered for younger children to make it easier for them to shoot the ball in the basket. Most schools have basketball gyms for the children to use.
