Water Well Repair Tools
Wells are an excellent source of fresh water for homes. They come in a variety of designs and have different capacities for water extraction. Some wells are automated and use a pumping system to bring water into the home. Others require the individual to use a rope and bucket to bring water to the surface. Regardless of the type of well, they all require many of the same tools for repair work.
Digging Tools
Well repair almost always requires digging to reach the problem. Most of a well's structure is below the surface of the ground, and this makes reaching problem areas difficult. By using a drill, repair workers can safely reach the portion of the well that needs to be repaired. The size of the drill will depend on the depth of the well. For deep wells, a professional grade drill will be required to dig deep enough to correct most problems.
Concrete and Mortar
Concrete and mortar are the components that give the well strength. The sides of the well must be strong enough to resist the pressure from the surrounding soil. The amount of mortar and concrete required for the well work will depend on a variety of factors, most notably, the composition of the surrounding soil and the depth of the well. Wells that are deep or have heavy soil surrounding them will require the use of more concrete and mortar.
Extraction Devices
The method used for bringing the water to the surface will often need to be replaced. Simple bucket and pulley systems will require regular replacement. However, systems that use pumps and piping require less frequent maintenance. However, when they do malfunction, they are usually more expensive to replace or repair. Due to the variety of systems used for bringing the water to the surface, repair tools for the water extraction system can vary greatly. Some systems may only need a bucket and rope to be replaced. However, complex systems could require new pumps and piping to restore the flow of water.
