What Do Hardware Stores Sell?
Almost every town in the United States has a hardware. They are seen as stores for older men who have workshops in their backyards or people that specialize in building, plumbing or any hard labor jobs. These myths are certainly not true. Everyone can find something they need or even want at a hardware store.
There are some hardware stores that are specific to an area. Several hardware stores also have a feed and seed attached to them. In rural areas, a farmer or someone who works in animal husbandry, can pick up all the essentials to work.
This type of store has been around for a very long time. Household hardware, tools, utensils, plumbing and electrical supplies, lawn care and often paint supplies can be found at a hardware store. Way in the back there may even be a place where keys can be made for a house or car or any number of things.
More commonly now, items for pest control can be found in the aisles of a hardware store. In some towns, the local post office will contract with the hardware store so it can be one stop. The larger stores such as Home Depot or Lowes have cut down independently owned hardware stores.
Two of the best known hardware stores that might still be considered local by some are Tru Value and Ace Hardware. These chains have local owners and operators and the name of Ace or Tru Value might be included in the name of the local business. There are a lot of DIY people that go to local hardware stores to get the supplies needed to do projects around a house.
Fasteners, power tools, hand tools, hinges and locks can all be found in a hardware store. There is always more to a hardware store than first meets the eye.
