What You Need to Make Flyers

Flyers are a popular and inexpensive way to announce and advertise everything from the opening of a new business to a weekend yard sale. One of the reasons that flyers are so popular is that they are simple to create and easily tailored to your needs. Chances are you already have what you need to make them from home.

Computer

While you can make a flyer without one, using a computer will provide you with the most professional results. Your computer should have a word processing program installed that will allow you to design your flyer. Most major programs, such as Microsoft Word or Open Office work perfectly for this.

A Printer

Once you've created your flyer you'll need to print it out. Having an inkjet or laser printer connected to your home computer will allow you to print and view a hard copy of what you've created in either color or black and white. Once you've finalized your flyer you can either print additional copies or take one to an office supply store for additional copies.

Paper

If you are printing all of your flyers from your home printer, you'll need to purchase flyer-paper that is made specifically for either ink or laser printers. This is a type of paper that is thicker than plain paper and comes in either a gloss or matte finish.
