One Man's Trash is Another Man's.... recycling
What is "Filter Regret"? Filter regret is an unfortunate form of buyers remorse that we see all too often. To put it plainly, about 50% of our installations involve removing some other form of gutter-guard/filter/screen/mesh in which a homeowner invested prior to Ever-Clean getting involved. The above picture is an example of our weekly trailer-load headed to the recycling center. Unfortunately, it's filled with products we've removed from homes where a untrustworthy sales rep likely over-promised and under-delivered.
The single most important message we share with homeowners about gutters and gutter guards is READ ONLINE REVIEWS. Look for these types of comments:
Comments on Performance: Our hearts break when homeowners contact us to remove their recently installed gutter guards, especially when they share that they invested on average, over $10,000. Ask the question: Why does your literature say your product will never clog or require maintenance but New York Times, Forbes, Bob Vila, the BBB and reviews on Google all say that maintenance is an absolute requirement?
Comments on Warranty Support: Any reports of failure or lack of warranty support is a big red flag. Ask for examples of clients receiving service completed under warranty.
Comments on Sales Tactics: We hear about ultra-high-pressure sales techniques and promises about warranties. Clients often share that although we were not the "cheap" option, they chose us because our staff did not treat them like they were at a used car auction. Ask: Do you earn a commission if I don't purchase today but I do purchase in a month?
