Smoky Mountains Fly Fishing Schools Guided Fly Fishing Trips

Nov 11, 2008

From Oct 1 to June 1, Eighteen NC trout streams revert over to DH (delayed harvest) each year. Other than our very few (4) catch-and-release streams offered by NCWRC (North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission), the DH streams offer you the best chance to experience trout fishing at its best. Smoky Mountains Fly Fishing School offers guided fly fishing trips on the DH section of the Nantahala and Tuckaseege river.

The DH season offers sportsmen seeking a quality fishing experience the best chance for a quality day on the stream. Most DH streams offer an angler the opportunity to land and release 25-100 fish on a good day. The Nantahala river is listed as one of the top 100 trout streams in the US.

The Nantahala and Tuckasegee rivers are both a fly fishing dream, providing over 10 miles of excellent trout fishing water.
