Direct MBBS Admission 2020,India | MBBS Admission Process

DIRECT MBBS ADMISSION PROCESS - MBBS or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is the popular course among the students after their class 12. The students opt for the MBBS degree due to its satisfying career and the job opportunity available. Many students dream for MBBS seats, but the reality is that the number of MBBS seats available across the country is limited. The students should be clear about the course, eligibility criteria, admission process and the number of seats available before going for the admission process. The MBBS admission in India is based on the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) scores. The candidates who clear NEET exam with qualifying scores are eligible for getting admission in the Medical institutions. There are 529 medical colleges in India, including private medical institutions, and deemed universities. Every year approximately three lakhs of aspirants compete for the 75,893 seats available for MBBS admission. ENTRANCE EXAM: The NEET is a national level online exam conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE). In India, the aspirants must appear and clear the NEET examination with eligible scores to get admission in the reputed medical institutions. The scores of the NEET exam will be considered for the merit listing, and the candidates are called for the counselling process based on the NEET ranking. MBBS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2020 Candidate must have cleared the 12th exam or PUC or senior secondary exam. With physics, chemistry and biology and English with 50% as an aggregate. Medical aspirants should clear the NEET exam with eligibility marks. The cut off will be 50 percentile for general category and 40 percentile for the reserved (SC, ST and OBC) Category. MBBS ADMISSION PROCESS 2020 The MBBS admission process is purely based on the merit process. The merit listing will be prepared according to the NEET scores. The counselling will be conducted in two processes. The central counselling is held for the All India Quota Seats, and the state counselling will be held for the state quota seats, private medical colleges and deemed universities seats. The students who pass the NEET exam with the required cut off can apply for the counselling process and can get admission in the medical institutions. DIRECT ADMISSION IN MBBS 2020 Getting a medical seat is a very tedious process even after clearing the NEET exam, as the number of seats available is far less than the number of students competing for it. The candidates with high NEET scores go for the counselling process. However, the students who are aspiring for MBBS but missed to get admission through counselling can go for the mbbs management quota seats. The medical institutions will be approved with a certain percentage of seats for the management admission process. Admission through management quota in medical colleges will be made as per the college rules. The candidates who have cleared the NEET exam are only eligible for the direct admission process. The seats under the management quota and the vacant seats from the counselling process will be converted into the management quota seats.
