Check the Better Business Bureau...I wish I had... COMPUTER WORKS' SCORE IS AN "F"! The only reason I gave them a "1 Star" is because I couldn't give them a "0 Star". I took a laptop in on 11/20/09. Today is 2/5/10 and the final part needed to repair it (which btw was...n't broken until they worked on it) still isn't here. This business has charged me $300...and wanted to keep adding on hundreds more...I refused to give them more because they kept finding "new" repairs that were needed, LOL. They wasted 2-1/2 months of my time, continuously shifted me from person to person, put used parts on my computer, even refused to give me the owner's phone number when I asked to speak to him. When I finally got to talk to him, he talked a good game but doesn't follow through. I have my computer, lights broken across the back, top not securely attached, and am still waiting. I took my computer in to Computer Works for a flashing screen then when I got it back it worked fine.....for a day then it started the same thing again so I took it back and they took it apart and they claim that when they put it back together the mother board just happ...end to die when they "fixed it"(which all they did was screw it up)so NEVER GO TO COMPUTER WORKS!!! I took my computer to computer works and they misplaced my power supply. They found an ps that would work and kept telling me that it had to be the one I dropped off with. They continued to tell me that my power supply was not there and it could not have been seperate...d from the computer due to their procedures. In other words I was lying. The same night they called and said that they had found it in the boss's( Charles) office. When I went to pick it up no one applogized for the mistake. In fact when I spoke with Charles he told me that your computer is fixed and you got your power supply back what more could you want. Computer Works is a scam!!!! I brought my laptop in for repair and was charged 140.00. I was told the part would be replaced and it would take 3-5 days. I paid them in full with cash 130.00 for the repair and 10.00 for the part. We picked up the computer after two ...days only to find out that the original part was never replaced but "HOT GLUED!" back into place. AFter three days the computer quite working. When we took the computer back to inquire about the warranty, the owner Charles Bowen told us it would cost 100.00 because he had to open the computer back up a second time. When we asked if the part had been replaced the first time he said no because due to his discretion it did not need to be replaced even though we were charged!! He claimed that we broke the same part in a different place and it was our fault, and to get our laptop back we needed to pay him the 100.00 dollars.
