Katie's Story

Katie Pena is a fine artist in Raleigh, North Carolina. She began her career as a painter during her teen years, when she explored oil painting and accepted commissions. She used her earnings in part to pay for her college degree in Fine Arts at the Rhode Island School of Design in Rhode Island.  She is inspired by vibrant color, flora and fauna, mythology and fantasy. She is also driven by explorations into new media and styles, such as fluid resin poured abstract paintings. She looks forward to more opportunities to apply her creative insights to additional colorful media such as stained glass making, while continuing to exercise her first passion for painting.  Katie also regularly splits her time between Raleigh, North Carolina and Los Angeles, California, where she combines her dual loves of creating fine art paintings and film production. With a degree in Film/Animation/Video, she has worked as a Scenic Painter for television, commercials and movies in Hollywood since 2010. In 2015, Katie joined the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees union (IATSE), where she became a Local 44 Southern California Set Dresser in the Set Decoration department. Katie has remained a proud IATSE union member ever since.

Qualities of a Reliable Job Marketplace

A reliable online market place like ours is what you need whether you are looking for a remote job or you want to hire professionals and experts remotely. There are many marketplaces available but not all of them are reliable. For this reason, you should know the qualities to look for in a marketplace. We have highlighted a few qualities to look for. If you don’t have the time, you can simply work with us because we have all these qualities. The site should be easy to use The site itself should be easy to use. It should be accessible on any device, and it should be easy to navigate. A simple layout with clear buttons and fonts that are easy to read will make the website user-friendly. Lots of white space and fast loading times help a lot too. It should have a balance of quality opportunities and quantity. Second, it's important to have a balance of quality opportunities and quantity. Some job marketplaces put all their energy into being the biggest and getting as many jobs as possible on their list, but that doesn't mean these choices are relevant or interesting to you. Others spend their resources finding only the highest quality jobs for a very specific audience or niche. You won't find any low-quality options here, but you also might not find what you're looking for. The best sites are those that combine both—a big selection so there's plenty of options to choose from, with careful curation so they're still good quality opportunities that fit your interests and needs. Not every job is going to be a good fit. So, we have an organized way of narrowing down your options, whether by personalization, sorting tools like filtering titles by relevance, or a simple search bar. This allows you to speedily rule out the choices that don't work for you while focusing more time and energy on the ones that could turn into something great. There should be an emphasis on quality results for the user A reliable job marketplace should be all about the user. Look for a platform that emphasizes quality results over quantity. The site should be designed with you in mind, and not just as a numbers game. Identify job sites that offer the best experience while making your search easier, faster, and more efficient. Be sure to look at what other users think of the site you’ve chosen. Are they satisfied? Do they consider it reliable? You can expect the site to act as a middleman between applicants and employers. When you're looking for a job, you can expect to see a number of online marketplaces that are dedicated to connecting applicants with hiring employers. In some cases, the employer will even directly post a listing on an online job board and then it's up to the applicant to see the listing and apply. If a site promises to do anything more than these simple steps, it means that it's not acting as a middleman between applicants and employers. You should be looking for work on your own, not relying on these services or sites. The site should not do the job searching for you A reliable job marketplace should not do the job searching for you. This means that the site's job search results are tailored specifically to you and your interests. Look for a site where filters allow you to specify more than just keywords and location. You should be able to filter by industry, experience level, company size, even skills required.
