Shopping Local

There are many reasons to shop from your neighbors at the establishments.  You get to interact with one of your neighbors, they live local, understand the community, they return the profits they make by spending in the same community they live in. The national chains stores have just one plan, to increase profits and move that money to headquarters.  That means that very little money is returned to the community.  Many locally owned shops buy their inventory locally, whereas a national chain buys for price only (China), has no concern for the local town.  They do not try to support the town their in, they actually deplete our economy by removing as much money out as possible. The locally owned stores return on avearge 87% of their revenue dollars back to the local economy.  In contrast the national chains return about 13%.  The locally owned use many other local services, accountants, attorneys, plumbers, electrician, carpenters and many other services that national chains do not use.
