Happiness Found
As humans we look for happiness when we are sad, angry, mad, upset, emotionally broken or just plain old looking for a pick me up. Well have you asked yourself lately am I happy or why I am not happy? How about what makes me happy or who makes me happy. I can go on and on for days and you may not get bored but I surely will.The answer is in your bathroom, bedroom and every mirror that you look in. You see happiness is truly a state of mind. I can hear you saying to yourself no not really, but yes it really is. Many people define their source of happiness in many different ways, but I can assure you that all of the obvious ways like money, a brand new car, a great wardrobe and even a hot guy/gal are all untrue and that is not what gives you happiness they are a mere temporary satisfaction until you are no longer satisfied and find yourself looking for the next happy fix. More often than not I am coaching to women who are distraught due to a bad break up with her boyfriend/girlfriend they do not feel like their life has any happiness or validity to it. Well here is the classic case of not knowing that your happiness lies within.Finding your source of happiness from within is not easy I will be the first to tell you. This coming from a woman who had to find this information out by accident due to the fact 3 very dear people to me (my mom, grandpa, brother) had died all in the same year, my marriage for 10 years was coming to an end and I was being sued by my grandmother. Through it all as I watched my world fall apart from inside out I yearned to find that piece of happiness that I had grown accustomed to my entire life. As I soul searched, spent money on clothes, shoes, hand bags and all the material possessions that I thought would bring me happiness when at the end of the day I was still unhappy and miserable. Yes I did look great, had a great hand bag and my feet were adorned with the latest in shoe wear fashion and still I remained unhappy. What I finally had come to terms with was I had all I needed and wanted yet I was still unhappy so I soul searched again, prayed , prayed and prayed more until finally the blessing of knowledge was instilled within me. I realized that I had all I wanted but none of the material possessions brought me closer to what I was getting from everyone else that was now gone from life so I come to the realization that all my life I looked toward people to validate my happiness when along my happiness should have been determined from me within. Finding my happiness was remembering little sentiments from my mother, the smell of fresh flowers, my 3 grade teacher (ms fox), my bedroom as a child, fishing with my grand pa.&forgiving myself for all the things that I didn't do right. Happiness is found from within. When all is said and done and everyone else is gone and you are the only one left standing in an empty room find that mirror look head on and dare yourself to find your happiness.
