Where do you need Schools ?
Reviews of Refuge of Grace Academy
Title
We looked at several boarding schools before deciding to send our daughter to Refuge of Grace Academy. In our opinion, it is the best of the best. Refuge of Grace Academy is grounded in the Word of God and filled with caring, compassionate people. We felt loved from the very first phone call. From the quality of their counselors to the way they structure their days, The program does everything possible to help kids and their families get a new start. We feel so blessed for all that they have done for our family.

i was placed in this home when i was 13 i am now 31 i was the third girl they took in,,and probably one of the worse. i fought them for years untill i realized i should give them a chance ,,,i have read all these reviews and as i can relate to some i have to say i have no regrets going there,,i may not believe in all they teach but im thankful there are people who will give up there lives to help others..i was never close to Mrs debbie cause like others i felt she hated me and had it out for me but brother Bud was always kind and understanding,,but to mrs debbies defence i dont think i cld handle so many girls with major problems on my own and not get annoyed,,but i love them all and am thankful for my time there,,,
By BECKY L May 02, 2012 at 08:08 AMDon't believe Heather
Heather was put in Refuge of Grace for a reason, and it shows now in her desire to pull down a good program. Sadly, these review sites show only the first review up front, so you might think it is a problem, but the problem is Heather. So sad that she is filled with so much hatred for God and anything having to do with God. Some day I pray she will see the Light. I had a boy in a similar program, and it was life changing for him. In fact, it saved his life and now at age 24 he is very appreciative. I know the Martins and this program and they are loving, caring people who only want to help kids like Heather. Some kids, however, don't want help and they make it their mission to destroy those who have tried to help them. It's easy to do nowadays, through the Internet.
By davebolt March 28, 2012 at 11:29 AMHappy for Bud and Debbie... continued
The mental damage this school had on me was also significant. I was terrified of life when I left. Bud and Debbie's idea of 'helping' me was to lock me up, in a single wide trailer, with no outside contact. My story may be completely different than the stories these young women have today, and I can only *hope* they do not have the same story as I do. I really hope deep down Bud and Debbie have changed their ways as I hear... but that does not change my past and what they did to me. My story is still my story, and I still have nightmares about Debbie. YES! I AM almost 30 years old, and if you people would just listen to the damage Bud and Debbie did to so many woman as I am not the only one. I have never ONCE had an apology from any of the Martins. I dare you to ask Bud and Debbie how they USED to be... maybe they will apologize to you for damaging me. I want my story to be heard. I want Bud and Debbie to admit to their past. Do yourself a favor, ask them how they ended up in Missouri.
By E March 27, 2012 at 05:05 PMI am really happy that Bud and Debbie have changed their ways
I hear through the grape vine that Bud and Debbie have changed their ways, and I am more than happy for them, and the young women that are sent to this 'school'. I do not have their credentials, but when I attended this 'school' it was unaccredited. I was sent back several years and this did hurt me, not only educationally, but emotionally. They physical damage this school did to me was not great either. Having to eat everything on my plate is really something that should not be forced (I heard they changed this rule, good job!) especially when meals consisted of canned goods, lots of flour!! nothing exactly top notch healthy... I mean, look at Bud and Debbie, they are not exactly role models when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. We also did not have physical education till I dropped that it was mandatory at my high school... Beverly Hills High School, and every other high school out there. Debbie changed her rules as she heard new things. I do hope she is accredited school today......

Rachel is right. There are many, many girls that are glad they went to ROG for what they learned. It is no vacation spa. They have to follow rules and ROG is a very high structured environment. But it is one of the lower cost schools when you compare it to similar boarding schools (not state universities . . are blondes writing some of these reviews!?!) Also ROG's academics are accredited through Accreditation International - parents just have to fill out the paperwork within the first 6 wks.

Many parents that are struggling with their teen have no choice but to send him away somewhere. Wolf Creek Academy is a fantastic choice. They are located in North Carolina and offer an accredited education plan, daily group counseling and weekly individual counseling, They also provide lots of outdoor activities. If you are in search of a boarding school for your teen, they would be a fantastic choice!\t\n
By David Bolthouse at Citysearch January 03, 2012 at 05:40 AMWOW!!! Guys your pretty ridiculous for this blog!!!!!
I can't believe you guys would write such hateful, awful, stuff about such a great place. Just because you chose not to use the great resources given to you and let them work in your life and decided to ruin your own life with your ow selfishness, doesn't mean you have to take it out on them or that ministry. I'm sorry your so bitter and would rather live your life in a mess that you created yourself, but there's lots of people such as myself who are grateful for such a AWESOME!!!!! place like this and anyone reading this, it's totally fine to send your daughters here, don't isten to the few girls that chose not to take what they recieved and use it to better themselves. It's a great place and I'm all for it. I promise there is absolutely no abuse or anything questionable:):)
By Rachel Laurin November 21, 2011 at 10:06 AMThank you God for Refuge of Grace
Bro Bud and Miss Debbie were two of the many different tools God used in my life to help make me the person I am today. It was because of their love for God and determination that I am now a student at Pensacola Christian College. My life was an absolute mess, I was making many choices that would soon lead to my destruction. When I first arrived at Refuge of Grace Academy in November, 2009, I was not very enthusiastic about being there. I was bitter against my family, the school, Brother Bud and Miss Debbie, but most of all, I was bitter against God. I watched their every move to see if they really did have the happier, more peaceful life that they promised Salvation would bring. It was Brother Bud and Miss Debbie's persistence that led me to God and help put my life back on track.
By tiredoflies November 18, 2011 at 06:32 PMthank you bud and debbie for ruining my education
your uncredited school put me back 2 years!!! you are two hicks that live a tax free life by being control hungry. luckily I did not fall under your spell or as bud liked to put it 'brainwashed' and today I live a full life at 28. Had you brainwashed me as you hope to brainwash every girl, I would probably live in a shadow of a man that I married right out of high school and started pushing babies out. Luckily I had a stronger head on my shoulders than you thought or wished for. Your 'school' may have come a long way since my time, but that does NOT make it right to have used me and several others as guinea pigs. You are two control hungry people and will one day account for everything you have done. ONE DAY
