Called them Sept. 2013 to install propane tank. Tech showed up two monts later to install but refused to do so because he said gas line wasn't bonded to my electrical system. I had an electrician check and it was bonded. Several phone calls/emails I finally got tank ins...talled in June 2014. I never should have had the work done but Aimie (manager) made me an offer I couldn't refuse. After installation I was charged for a tank of propane that was never delivered. Finally got tank filled Oct. 2014. One messed up company. Don't believe Aimie (manager) she reneges on her promises. I'd rate them a zero if I could. Read More

Amerigas has a history of charging commercial accounts for having a high pressure meter and then charges them at a much higher rate for having such a meter WHEN IN FACT THERE IS NO HIGH PRESSURE METER! they have been caught doing this frequently, and have been fined 25...000 thousand dollars by the State of Connecticut for doing this. They did this to my business but when I complained to the Dept of Consumer Protection, this agency declined to prosecute this very same infraction. I firmly believe they declined because the lawyer for Amerigas was a former lawyer in the Dept of Consumer Protection..Amerigas also committed many billing errors over the years on my account which I had many frustrating exchanges with them. I recently changed my propane supplier to Spicer Advanced Gas, and my propane bill has decreased significantly with much better service. Read More

Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone in Colchester Amerigas. I have been a customer for over 10 years and I purchased 90 gal back in December at a cost of over $5.15 which I believe was extreemly HIGH, and after checking with 4 other Gas dealers in the area found that the higest price from a competator in December was no higher t...han $3.28 per Gal??? Customer "No" Service exists at Amerigas Colchester, CT. After 12 years with Amerigas, I was forced to switch because of poor/or rather no customer service! I waited for over 1 week to get a refill on propane for my range - I did not have any cooking gas for Thanksgiv...ing- and the unsympathtic Colchester crew seemed to think that they were, or are, doing me a favor! Their explanation - they only have ONE delivery person for the entire southeast Ct. Well, they're not doing me any favors! Good bye Amerigas and welcome to one of your competitors!
