About Downhill Ski Suits
Downhill ski suits and gear are made out of water resistant material to keep moisture off of you as you ski. These types of suits are perfect for an individual who loves active skiing, as they also improve your speed.
Types of Downhill Ski Suits
The first type of downhill ski suit is a basic suit consisting of a down puffer jacket and matching pants. These kinds of suits are good for 30 to 40 degree weather but nothing lower. The tight fitted downhill suit is for the most active skier who enjoys doing vigorous ski training and workouts. Most of these kinds of suits fit the body just right, which will improve the aerodynamics and physics of your movements down the snowy hills. They have padding inside of the suit and on all the sensitive areas you may injure while skiing, which are elbows, knees, thighs, and back.
Ski Suit Materials
Ski suits have strong insulation to keep the body in a comfortable temperature. The inside of them have lots of padding either made out of sturdy cotton, merino wool, goose down, or polyester blends. If you are skiing in a warmer climate, it is suggested that you choose a suit with a cotton or polyester blend, since wool and goose down give the body extra warmth. You can also choose a different type of padding that isn’t as thick, since it may interfere with the way you slide down slopes.
