About the American Quarter Horse Association

Quarter horses can trace their roots trace back to the early 1600s when groups of English horses composed of Spanish origin were bred to American stock horses. What developed was a stocky, muscular horse able to not only work, but to race quick, quarter mile races, thus the name Quarter Horse. The American Quarter Horse Association supports and carries on the pride Quarter horse owners feel for their horses.
