Alternative Wedding Themes

There are many alternative wedding themes; if you can think it up it can be turned into a wedding. Many people enjoy including their hobbies or even their careers in their wedding themes. The idea of an alternative wedding theme is to do something different and memorable. Your day is about you and the ceremony should reflect that.

Couples have tried some very interesting themes out for their weddings, going as far as to have ceremonies in extreme places.

Alternative theme

Consider your hobbies when looking for an alternative theme. If you are getting married to a Lord of the Rings or Star Trek fan, go for an all-out costume wedding. Ask guests to arrive in costume and decorate the venue to match your favorite scene. This has been done many times and will not shock anyone who has been in the wedding business for a while.

You could also try a luau or renaissance wedding, both offer great decorations and attire. Really consider the themes that you are drawn to and have fun with it. There is no reason your wedding can’t be the event of the year.

There is another way to have an alternative theme. These are normally considered extreme weddings where couples get married in a variety of locations.

The reception can be decorated to match how you choose to say your vows. Many couples find it not only exciting but fun to get married in this way.

Alternative Decor

Remember there are many alternative ways to decorate your wedding; you don’t have to use an extreme location or ask your guests to dress in costume you can just choose to decorate in an unusual way.

Decorate your reception to look like a favorite movie or in a way that reflects your favorite song. Decorate to look like you’re on the moon or in Dracula’s castle. Get creative and have fun with it.
