Top Choices for Gymnastics Music

Best Gymnastics Music

Gymnastics music allows the gymnast to perform their routine in rhythmic patterns. Doing gymnastics to music can enhance a person’s workout and make their routine a lot more fun. There are a few main types of music genres that are normally used by gymnasts, but a person can perform gymnastics to any type of music they choose.

Techno Music
This type of music usually has heaving hitting beats that make it great for dancing. Many gymnasts use this type of music during their routines as the music is usually easy to stay in rhythm with. Most techno songs, like many songs in other music genres, use 4/4 time. The gymnast is able to count the rhythm in their head and match it with her routine. Gymnastics moves can be made even more impressive when they are hit in sync with changes or accents in techno music.

Pop Music
In some cases, gymnastics competitions may not allow pop music due to copyright issues. A gymnast may capture a crowd’s attention easier if they are allowed to use a popular song because they can get the audience singing along during the performance. Pop Music is the most popular music genre and often incorporates heavy hitting beats in 4/4 time, much like techno.

Classical Music
Classical music is often used in film to play on a person’s emotions, and it works well for gymnastics routines also. Classical music often uses dynamics which can be incorporated nicely into a gymnastics routine. The gymnast may start out with slower movements on quieter parts of the musical piece and work up to more complex movements when the music becomes more intense.
