Best Way to Send a Fax to an Email

Fax machines are becoming a thing of the past thanks to electronic fax services. Electronic fax services make it possible to send and receive faxes through email. The service is more convenient and cheaper than a regular fax machine. Faxes that are received via email can be read just like a regular email or printed and saved as a fax.

Method 1:

  1. Open the fax as an electronic file on your computer. If the fax is not saved on the computer, scan it and save it in your documents folder. This allows you to open, edit, save and send it.

  2. Open your email and click on the "New" or "Compose" button to create a new email.

  3. Click on the "Attach" button. Browse through your saved files and documents to find the saved fax. Click on the "Open" button, and allow it to load.

  4. Type the recipient's email address into the "To" box.

  5. Type a title or subject into the "Subject" box.

  6. Click the send button to send the fax to an email.

Method 2:

  1. Create an electronic fax account with a website such as eFax. Enter your contact information and payment information if necessary into the proper boxes to join. You will receive an electronic fax number.

  2. Give your personal electronic fax number to employees, bosses, clients, family and friends. The electronic fax number works the same as a regular fax number.

  3. Receive your electronic faxes by checking your email inbox. Once the email is opened, you can access your fax. The fax can be edited, printed, saved or forwarded on to other email addresses.
