There are steps to building your strategy. Advertising is customer driven. You must target the right customer in the right place at the right time. First, you will need to gather the following information:

  • Business plan– you will need the marketing section and historical data

  • Advertising options and approximate cost

  • List of how your target customer interacts

  • Local organizations that are a good fit with you

  • List of your current advertising, rate how they are performing

 Look at your market research-

  • Where do your customers come from?

  • Where do they spend their time?

  • What media outlets are in their demographic?

  • Which advertising method has performed well in the past?

Answer these questions. Next to them, add which advertising methods would be likely to get their attention.

With all of this information, you now need to decide where to advertise. Base it on performance for services that will cost you money. All free services are a given, advertise where ever you can whenever you can free. Work with local business and organizations to put your plan into action.
