Many people choose French wine based on the region that produces the wine and many wineries market their wine based on their region as well. This approach to wine works because each region specializes in different flavors and types. Thus, it is difficult to find two wines produce in the same region, but there are exceptions such as Chablis, which comes from two different regions Loire and Bordeaux. The south of France produces by far the largest amount of wine in areas like Bordeaux with popular wines like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
