About Gymnastics Classes

Gymnastic Classes for Girls

There are several different gymnastics classes available for girls, and each one covers different activities or movements. The gymnastics class a girl can take usually depends on how old or skilled she is. Gymnastics classes are available at numerous locations across the United States.

Gymnastics for Preschool Girls

Many gymnastics facilities will require that girls reach the age of 2 or 3 before they can begin learning gymnastics. The girl will need to be able to walk to perform some of the movements. The child will also need to be somewhat independent and be able to focus on what the instructor is telling them. Enrolling a girl in gymnastics at a young age can greatly increase her coordination. Be sure to call the gymnastics facilities in your area to address any important questions or concerns, including if they have programs for this age group.

Junior Gymnastics for Girls

Girls can usually enroll in junior gymnastics classes if they are 4 or 5 years of age. The junior class is a step up from the preschool program, and the objective is to further develop any skills that are taught to preschoolers. Getting girls into a gymnastics class at a younger age teaches them a lot of great things. It also encourages social interaction.

Trampoline or Tumbling Gymnastics Classes

The classes are usually available to girls that are over 8 years of age. During these classes, girls learn to further improve their coordination by practicing more advanced gymnastics maneuvers on a trampoline. Several different types of trampolines may be used for different exercises as well as tumble tracks.
