How to Apply for Bank Jobs
If you are interested in working for a bank, you need to learn the proper way to apply for a bank job. Basically, you can apply for bank jobs in the same way you apply for many other jobs. Once you have your resume ready, you can apply for bank jobs online or at your local banks.

- Get your resume ready. If you do not currently have a resume, you will need to write one up. If you cannot do this yourself, there are many resume writing services that will write one for you for a fee. Make sure your resume reflects any experience you have working with banks. Most banks want you to have some type of experience working in a bank or other related experience. Customer service experience is always a plus as you will be working directly with customers. You must be good with numbers also and understand how the banking system works.
- Look online for banking jobs. There are many job websites you can navigate to find a job in a bank. A few of these websites are bankjobs.com, monster.com or yahoojobs.com. Look through the available jobs and click on the jobs you are interested in. Apply for the jobs and submit your resume to them, as well as a cover letter.
- Visit local banks to apply for a job. Ask them if they have any openings and if you can fill out an application. They may either give you an application, or tell you were to go online to apply for a job.
- Wait a few days and then call or email the banks that you applied for to check on your application. Calling and checking on your application lets them know that you are interested. You should only call them once, as you do not want to bother them by calling them every day.
- Dress well for the interview when they set one up with you. Make sure you dress in business attire. Do not wear a lot of jewelry or perfume. Make sure you take you resume with you, as well as any other documents you might need for the job you are applying for.
- Call them in a few days if you do not hear anything. Thank them again for the interview. Do not keep calling them back. One phone call is enough to let them know how interested you are.
