How to Arrange Golf Bags

Properly arranging clubs and other accessories in a golf bag makes it easy for the golfer to access the equipment. The bag should be large enough to hold everything the golfer needs to use on the course. The golfer will need to decide how to position the clubs as well as where to put other items such as golf balls and tees.

  • Gather all of the equipment you want to include in your golf bag. Most bags have slots in the top opening for you to position your clubs according to size. For example, you can put your woods in one section and your long and short irons in different sections. Arrange your clubs so they are easily accessible during a round.

  • Put golf balls in the lower zipper compartment of the golf bag. Fill the space with balls so you do not run out during a round. Place your tees in the slot directly above the golf balls, so you have them ready to use.

  • Fasten a golf towel to the side of the bag. Most bags have a clip that you can use to hold a towel. You should also carry a golf umbrella with you in case it rains when you are out on the course.

  • Carry a rain jacket in your golf bag. Fold the jacket neatly and then put it inside the vertical zipper compartment on the side of the golf bag. You can also use this compartment for storing your golf shoes when you finish using them on the course. Clean the shoes before you store them in the bag.

  • Clip your golf glove to the side of the bag. You should also have an extra glove inside one of the bag compartments in case your glove tears during a round. Keep some writing material in your bag as well for taking notes or to keep score when you play a round.
