How to Build a Wine Storage Room
A wine storage room is an area in a person’s home that holds their many bottles of wine. They may be used to hold collectable bottles, or bottles they create homemade. You can build a wine storage room in your home by following a series of instructions.
Items Needed:
- Large room
- Concrete
- Vapor barriers
- Wooden wall studs
- Refrigeration wine zone handler
- Dry wall
- Wine cubes
- Measuring tape
- Pick a room in your home that has an ample amount of space. A larger space is easiest to work with when you’re creating your wine storage room.
- Seal the walls with concrete before beginning to create your wine storage area.
- Install a vapor barrier on all areas of the wall.
- Run wall studs from the floor to the ceiling on all four walls of your wine storage room, over the vapor barriers.
- Frame the area of the room with the wooden wall studs.
- Install refrigeration for wine zone air handler. This system keeps the air at a good temperature for wine storage.
- Cover each wall with high humidity proof drywall. This type of drywall will not be damaged from the high humidity levels that you’ll have in your wine storage room.
- Measure the largest wall in the room. You’re going to fill this wall with wine cubes to store your wine bottles in.
- Create enough wine cubes to cover the entire wall you where you measured. These cubes can be made easily from plywood or another wood of your choice.
- Install the wine cubes on the wall in a pattern you like. You can choose to cover more than one wall if you have larger storage requirements.
- Decorate the remaining walls with décor of your choice.
