How to Charge Cell Phone Batteries in a Car With an Adapter
According to a 2010 study completed by CTIA, 91 percent of all American own a cell phone and use 1.12 trillion minutes each year. Most of us use cell phones everyday for work, and personal conversations. How many times have you been traveling home from work and your cell phone dies?
We all have experienced this issue even with proper planning. Charging the cell phone battery via the car battery is a simple task and only requires the preparation of carrying the cell phone automobile charger with you in your glove compartment, briefcase, or purse.
- Locate the lighter or power port
in the automobile. Some vehicles have several ports located in the
car. - If your cell phone did not come
with an automobile charger, then you will need to purchase one. The
charger is available for purchase from your cell phone company. - If you purchase the automobile
charger from a source other than the manufacturer then keep the
receipt to return the charger in the event that it does not work. - Plug the larger end of the car
charger into the power outlet. Press the charger in until it is
firmly secured. - Plug the smaller end of the
charger into the cell phone. Lay the cell phone on a surface that
will protect it from being unplugged or sliding around while
charging. - Check the cell phone to ensure
that it is charging by looking at the charging status bar. - If the cell phone is not charging
then unplug it and test with a different phone. The power outlet
uses a fuse to enable the charging, so the fuse needs checking if
the charger is not working correctly.
