How to Convert MTV Music Videos to Video Files
If you have just recently seen some new music videos that are on MTV that you really enjoy, you may want to capture those videos so you can watch them anytime you'd like. You can get these music videos and turn them into video files so you use no space on your DVR, or waste time recording them on your VCR.
Things you will need:
- Video capture device
- Video-editing software
- Computer
- Make sure your computer is turned on.
- Get your video capture device and hook your TV, DVR, or VCR up to your computer. To hook up this device you will need to connect the A/V cords on the device to the video and outputs on the TV, DVR, or VCR and connect USB cable to the other end to a USB port on your computer.
- Get on your computer and find your video-editing software that you choose to use.
- Open the video-editing program up. Usually a computer come pre-installed with a Windows Movie Maker. This program will be good to use if you have it.
- Click on the "File" tab in the top left hand corner of the program and select "Import from digital video camera option." Once you have selected this option the video that was imported will begin to play in your program.
- Click the "Start Capture" button to begin playing the MTV music video on your TV, DVR, or VCR. Once the video is done being captured you can click "Stop Capture" to stop it.
- Click the "save" button from the "file" tab at the top of your screen. You have now saved the music video to your computer's hard drive and you can watch the video at any time.
In case you don't have a video capture device you could use a digital video camera with pass-through capabilities. If you decide to use this option you can connect it to your computer by connecting A/V to the mini-jack cord to the audio/video outs on the DVR, VCR or TV and plug the mini-jack end to the mini-jack port on the camera.
