How to Convert an MP3 Download
Digital audio has made it easier than ever to bring your music collection wherever you want to go. The downside to this, however, is that unless your device supports the format of your files, you have no way to listen to them. Converting your MP3s to another format is quick and easy with free software available on the Internet.
Things you will need:
- MP3 files you want to convert
- NCH Software’s Switch MP3 Converter Software– Available at http://www.nch.com.au/switch/mp3.html
- An active Internet connection
- Open Switch MP3 Converter by double clicking the icon on the desktop or on your Start Menu. The entry on the Start Menu should be in “NCH Software Suite” under “All Programs.”
- Open Windows Explorer and select the MP3 files you want to convert.
- Drag the files into the Switch MP3 Converter window. The files should appear there under “List of files to convert.” If you need to convert files out of multiple directories, repeat steps two and three, until all files have been selected.
- Click “Browse,” next to the “Save to Folder” drop down.
- Click the folder you want the converted files to be saved to.
- Click “OK.”
- Click the drop down next to “Output Format” to choose the format you need.
- Click “Encoder Options…” to set any specific options for the format chosen.
- Click “Convert.” Switch MP3 Converter will connect to the Internet and download any required files to complete the conversion.
- Wait for the progress bar to disappear.
- Click “Open Output Folder” to view any converted files.
