How to Defog Bathroom Mirrors
When someone takes a shower in the bathroom, the mirrors are all foggy when they finish. This can be frustrating, especially for the next person to enter the bathroom. Fortunately, there are some things you can do to defog bathroom mirrors, and also a trick to help the mirror not get foggy in the first place.
- Clean your bathroom mirror with shaving cream. Shaving cream will put a barrier on the mirror and it will not get fogged up the next time someone takes a hot shower. Put a small amount of shaving cream on the mirror and simply wipe it off. You can do this once per week to keep your bathroom mirrors from fogging up.
- Use your hair dryer to defog the bathroom mirror fast. Put the hair dryer on its highest heat setting and point it at the fogged up mirror. Move the hair dryer back and forth slowly and you will see the condensation leave immediately. Do not put the dryer too close to the mirror, or you can hurt the hair dryer.
- Open the bathroom door and the mirrors will defog within a few minutes. Once fresh hair hits the bathroom, the mirrors will instantly defog within five minutes. Waving the door open and close to help the air get in faster can make the mirrors defog even faster.
- Purchase an anti-fog solution to apply to your bathroom mirrors. You can purchase this at any auto parts store because people also use this on their car windows. Once you apply the anti-fog solution to your mirrors, you will not have to reapply it again for a few months.
