How to Empty a Lawn Mower Bag

A lawn mower with a bag makes it easier to keep your lawn looking neat. They enable you to mow without having to rake once you are done; all the yard waste goes into the bag. Later the bag can be emptied into a yard waste bag to be collected by your local trash collection company or it can be used for your compost pile.

How to Empty a Lawn Mower Bag

  1. Be sure the mower is off and you are working on a flat surface.
  2. Lawn mower bags are either on the side of back of the mower, locate yours and lift the flap.
  3. Place your hands under the flap and feel around until you find the metal poles that hold the bag in place.
  4. Put both hands on the metal poles and lift your bag up and pull it out at the same time. Do this gently so you don't spill any grass clippings.
  5. Empty the contents of the mower bag into a paper yard waste bag or in your compost pile.
  6. Replace the bag back onto the mower but putting it into position and being sure the metal frame snaps back into place.
  7. Put the plastic flap back down.
