How to Find New Music That You Like

Many radio stations play the same song several times a day.  It’s the same playlist over and over.  If this seems like a mundane way to enjoy music, you are not alone.  Music lovers enjoy finding new music that they can add to their collection.

• Order coffee at Starbucks and look for the new music promotional cards on the countertop.  Take a free card and check out the music when you get home.  Starbucks supports many new and upcoming artists that may have a style you will enjoy.


• Use an online search engine to find new music.  You may have to click on several different links to find the style of music you enjoy.  You can also search for a particular style of music in your initial search.


• Post a question on Facebook, asking everyone on your friend list to reply with their favorite band or song.  The answers just might be a new favorite song or band you enjoy.


• Read music magazines and look for new music and new artists.  Magazines that may have the new music you like include Rolling Stone, Billboard and Spin.  Read the magazine reviews and decide if it fits your style.  Most magazines have contact with new music artists long before they have a hit on a radio station.


• Go to local concerts, nightclubs and public events.  Many new and upcoming artists play at these events.  You may find a new song, style or band that you enjoy.  Remember, every big music celebrity had to start somewhere.
