How to Get Personal Bank Loans
Personal bank loans are any loans provided to a consumer by a bank or financial service that do not require a down payment. These personal loans are given for debt consolidation, to cover the cost of medical costs and sometimes small loans such as payday loans.
- Possess a good to excellent credit score. Most banks will not approve a personal bank loan for any applicant whose credit score is less than 750.
- Possess a study work history. Generally the rule is that you are employed for at least six months with your current employer prior to applying for the personal bank loan.
- Offer collateral to secure the personal bank loan. This collateral includes any property that you rightfully own and do not have a lien holder's name attached to the title. For example a bank using your car title as collateral when your car is valued at more than your asking loan amount would aid you in approval for this amount. In this case however your name should appear on the car title and you should own it outright.
- Avoid asking for a loan amount that is beyond your budget. When you apply for a personal bank loan the loan officer evaluates your incoming wages to determine whether you could afford the payments on this loan amount. If after this evaluation the loan officer feels you are not able to afford these payments she or he will ask you to reconsider the loan amount. This is true even if you possess a high credit score.
