How to Get a Toll-Free Fax Number

There are numerous Internet fax providers that provide free fax numbers for customers to register for. Registering for a free fax number may be accomplished simply by providing some basic information about yourself.  The number may be in the form of a local or toll-free fax number.

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet fax provider

  • Email address to set up the account

  • Computer to submit the information

  1. Log onto the Internet and search for an Internet fax provider.  Try the keywords "toll free fax" and numerous options should appear.  There are many different providers to choose from depending on what you are looking for.  Some may make you pay up front to set up an account, for others there will be no charge.

  2. Review each site to determine which company best meets your needs.

  3. Complete the online registration form. Typically they will ask for basic information such as your first and last name, company name if applicable, mailing address and email address.  How much or how little personal information is required will vary between different companies.

  4. Read the customer agreement with the provider you decided to go with. Make sure you understand the commitment you are making in terms of contract length and any conditions they require.  There may be additional charges if you accept a large number of faxes daily.

  5. Submit the information using the Submit button.  This may be worded differently depending on which provider you have chosen.

  6. Use your fax number. Your number should be available for immediate use upon submitting your information.
