How to Hide a Stain on a Tuxedo

Many men wear tuxedos to formal events and want to look their best. There are different reasons for attending formal events, such as a wedding, political campaign or business party. It is very easy to make a bad impression by getting a stain on your tuxedo. Get creative with covering up the stain. Do not be afraid to be unique.

Cover the stain with a button. If you have a stain on the shirt of the tuxedo in the chest area, then you can cover it up by wearing a button. The button trick works great, depending on the event. Hide a stain at a political event by wearing a button to support your favorite candidate. You can also wear a button with a funny message over the stain at a wedding. The message on the button can say “With the Groom” or “Free Dances.”

Try cleaning the stain. It is easy to get a stain on clothing by bumping into someone or food dropping from your plate. When this happens, you want to rush to the bathroom and blot the stain with water. Do not rub, because the stain will set into the material. Allow the stain to dry by air or using a hand dryer.

Remove the piece of clothing. Some clothing articles can be removed or put back on, depending on the location of the stain. If you get a stain on your tuxedo jacket, then you can take the jacket off and drape it over a chair. A stain on the sleeve of a button up shirt can be rolled up or covered with the jacket.

Start a trend and wear a scarf. Scarves are very trendy and wearing one can cover a stain in the chest area. If anyone asks about the scarf, then you want to make them think it is a new fashion trend.
