How to Maintain a Laundromat Washer
Maintenance on laundromat washing machines should be performed regularly. Proper maintenance allows you to use the machine for many more years. It also helps prevent accidents such as damage to customer's clothing or leaking, which could result in a flooded laundromat.

Maintaining a laundromat washer
- Take out and clean the cold water screen. This screen is intended to keep dirt and sand from entering into the water pump. The screen at times becomes clogged with the sand and dirt; this can make the water running into the machine slower.
- Remove and clean the machine's lint trap.
- Check all hoses and connections. Make sure that connections are secure and hoses are firmly attached. Look over the hoses for any cracks that may be developing. Replace any hoses that appear worn with slits or cracks. A hose that is cracked or not properly attached can lead to dirty water leaking onto the floor instead of into the drain, or clean water landing on the floor instead of into the machine.
- Use a clean cloth and washing machine cleaner to clean the inside of the washing machine. This will remove dirt and oils left behind in the machine.
- Spray the outside of the machine with a multi-surface cleaner. Wipe off with a damp sponge, rinse the sponge often. Go over any areas that have difficult to remove stains. Let the cleaning solution stay on these areas for a minute or so before wiping off.
