How to Make Homemade Trout Fishing Bait
Some fishermen will tell you that the secret to catching trout fish is the type of bait you choose to use, which is one of the main reasons that some fishermen make their own bait instead of using store bought bait.
If you find it hard to catch trout using store bought bait or lures you should highly consider making your own trout bait. Some fishermen refuse to use anything else. It is fairly easy to make and it may be just what you need to have a productive day instead of coming home empty-handed.
Ingredients Needed
- 1/4 pound of Velveeta cheese
- 2 cups of water
- 1 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 cup of cornmeal
- Chop the cheese up in small chunks and place it in a microwave safe bowl and heat it in the microwave until it is melted.
- Mix the melted cheese, water, flour, sugar, garlic powder and cornmeal in a large bowl and mix it until it forms a heavy dough.
- Put some water in a large pot and put it on the stove and bring it to a rolling boil.
- Pinch off small pieces of the dough and roll it into several small balls.
- Gently drop the balls into the hot water. Only drop a few of the balls in the water at a time.
- Allow the balls to remain in the water for approximately 2 minutes.
- Remove the balls from the water and lay them on a paper towel to dry.
