How to Make Miniature Wooden Clocks
A miniature wooden clock is a great way to display the time while taking up very little space. You can follow a few simple steps and design a miniature wooden clock for you to use in your home or office.
Things You’ll Need:
- Wooden planks
- Clock hands
- Clock motor
- Paint
- Glue gun
- Do some research and learn about the clock design. The more you know about the design, the easier it will be for you to put the pieces together correctly.
- Decide on the design of your miniature wooden clock. The clock can be any shape you’d like and you have several different color options.
- Trace the face and back of your clock design on a wooden plank.
- Trace the sides of the clock on a separate wooden plank. Be sure to take measurements so that the sides match up with the back and middle of the design.
- Cut the wooden pieces from the wood plant using an electric saw.
- Paint the pieces and design the face of the clock before putting the unit together.
- Lay the back of the clock on a flat service and use a glue gun to secure the sides to the back piece.
- Secure the motor inside of the clock. It should be attached securely to the inside of the back piece of wood.
- Cut two small holes in the piece of wood that will be used for the front of the clock.
- Place the hands of the clock through these holes.
- Attach the hands of the clock to the motor inside of the clock. This should only be visible from the inside.
- Glue the front of the clock to the already assembled pieces.
- Set and test the clock to ensure it is working correctly.
