How to Make Pineapple Decor Gifts
Pineapples are known to be a symbol of welcome. Pineapple decor gifts make great housewarming or guest presents. Ones made from real pineapples are appropriate for parties, but will not last long. You can also create and give longer lasting pineapple home decor gifts using pineapple stencils and wood pineapple figures.
Made from Real Pineapple
Items Needed:
- Pineapple
- Carving knife
- Tea candle
- Chopped fruit and berries
- Long toothpicks or thin wood spears
- Pineapple candleholders can be made by cutting off the top of the pineapple, carving a design into the pineapple on four sides, scooping out the fruit and then allowing it to dry. When dry, place a tea candle inside and light.
- Pineapple appetizer centerpieces are easy to make. Simply peal the pineapple and chop various fruits. Attach chopped fruits and whole berries and veggies onto the pineapple using long toothpicks. Use multiple pieces of fruit on one toothpick.
- Create a pineapple fruit bowl for a decorative and delicious centerpiece. Cut a small piece off one side so that it lays flat when placed on the cut side. Cut the top layer of the opposite side of the pineapple off. Scoop out the fruit. Chop the fruit of the pineapple and add to other chopped fruit for fruit salad. Fill your pineapple bowl with fruit salad.

- Use painting stencils to decorate a variety of items to be used as decor gifts. A plain lamp with a lampshade can have painted pineapples simply added with pineapple stencils, using sponges to apply the appropriate pineapple colors which are generally greens, browns and yellows. Use stencils to decorate wood vases, bathroom items like soap dispensers or soap holders, and even fabric decor gifts such as pillows. Be sure to use fabric paints when painting with pineapple stencils on fabric items.
- Small wood pineapple figures can be attached to many home decor gift items with a hot glue gun. These can be left in their natural wood color or painted. Decorate a welcome sign or address display with wood pineapple figures. Add them to mirrors on the corners. You can even attach them to wreaths to make a welcoming wall or door hanging.
