Yogurt is a delicious ingredient for making a pie. It is a great dessert choice to bring to an occasion when you want to break away from the traditional pie format. Yogurt pie is fast and easy and can be a tasty summertime treat.
- Choose the flavor for your pie. Yogurt is available in a variety of tasty individual or combination flavors. You can be as traditional or as creative as you would like.
- Purchase your ingredients for the pie. You will need the fruit of your choice, 12 ounces of whipped topping, 18 ounces of the yogurt flavor that you desire and 1 graham cracker crust.
- Mix the yogurt and whipped topping together in a bowl. Stir the yogurt and whipped topping for about 30 seconds to a minute. Once it has blended well, let is set for 2 to 3 minutes to thicken. While you are waiting remove the graham cracker crust from the packaging.
- Pour the mixture into the crust. Using a large wooden spoon or spatula, smooth the mixture around until it covers the crust evenly.
- Refrigerate the pie for an hour. Cover the pie with a secure lid and place in the fridge. After an hour remove the pie, take the lid off and add your desired fruit. You can garnish the pie with a few pieces of the fruit or cover the entire pie if you wish. Once you have the desired amount of fruit, then place the lid back on top of the pie and return to the refrigerator for another hour.
- Remove the pie from the refrigerator. Take it out about 15 minutes before you are ready to serve it and run the knife under hot water before cutting the pie. This will allow a smooth cut and prevent tearing the pie.
