How to Make a Simple Archery Bow

Archery is used for recreation and is a good method of becoming physically fit. Creating a simple archery bow does not require a large amount of time and it is inexpensive. In some cases, you may locate an inexpensive kit to construct your archery bow. If you do not own a kit, consider locating your supplies in the woods.

Step 1: Locate a long stick and/or broken tree branch that has a slight curve. The tips of the stick should measure roughly the same size at both ends. If you have the ability to carve wood, you could use a stick without a curve. Just as long as you can carve it into curvy shape it will still work.

Step 2: Using nails secure a google strap to both ends of your stick to form a bow. If you do not have access to a google strap, you could tie rubber bands together from one end of the stick to the other. Realize that your bow will not have the same accuracy with rubber bands as it would with a google strap.

Step 3: Purchase wooden arrows from any sporting goods store or department from a store of your choice.
