How to Make a Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie
A strawberry yogurt smoothie can be a tasty treat or a healthy meal replacement drink. Although the recipe for this drink can be changed depending on your personal tastes, the basis requires the same core ingredients of strawberries, yogurt, milk and ice.
- Gather all your ingredients, including strawberries, milk, ice and yogurt. You will need a blender to puree the mixture, so have one on hand.
- Cut the tops off 6 large strawberries or 10 small or medium strawberries. Throw the fruit into the blender.
- Add 1/2 cup of yogurt to the mixture. You can choose from a wide variety of yogurt flavors, but for extra strawberry flavor, add strawberry yogurt. For a creamier smoothie, use whipped yogurt.
- Pour 1/2 cup of whole milk into the blender. Whole milk helps thicken the mixture and yield a creamier smoothie.
- Add 1 cup of ice cubes to the mixture. Use crushed ice, if possible, to reduce the amount of work your blender has to perform.
- Place the lid on the blender and turn the blender on a slow speed. Take the lid off every 30 seconds to check the mixture.
- Stop mixing once the large ice chunks have disappeared. Your smoothie should be slushy and not chunky.
- Pour the smoothie into a glass, add a straw and enjoy. Drink your smoothie immediately to prevent it from melting and becoming watery.
- Double or triple the ingredients list to make strawberry yogurt smoothies for a crowd.
