How to Plan a Boat Party
Instead of having a boring house party, take advantage of the beautiful warm weather, spice up your party life a bit and have it on a boat. Whether you own a boat, can borrow it for a night from a friend or even rent it for one evening, a boat party is definitely an event none of your guests will ever forget.
- Pick the day you'd like to have your boat party event. It's suggested you pick warmer months, anywhere from May to August will probably be your best bet. No one wants to be out on the water when it's chilly out.
- Prepare a guest list. Determine how many people you will invite or put on your guest list for your boat party. You need to know the number of people coming so you can get a boat that has enough space for your guests.
- Find a boat! If you do not have a boat of your own or someone kind enough to let you borrow theirs for the night then you can ask around the boating community or local marinas. Many boat owners will allow you to rent their boat for the evening on a contractual basis. Ask around and compare fees, see which option is best for you based on space and budget.
- Send out those invites. Once you find the perfect boat for your fun night of partying on the waters, be sure to either send out personalized invites for the event or tell people about your event. Make sure you put an RSVP date on the invite so you can know how many people you're expecting.
- Research vendors. After finding out how many people you're expecting, it's then time to call some vendors. Call around and ask for rates on services like catering, entertainment (DJ's, live band, magicians) and cleaning services.
- Allow the vendors to do their job on the day of the event and put together the odds and ends. Relax, have fun and mingle with guests and last and most importantly, have fun!
