You can clean a laptop yourself if your keys are starting to stick or if you have an old laptop you want to clean. You have to be careful so you do not damage the electronics in a laptop. This article will instruct you on how to properly clean your laptop.

Select the correct cleaning supplies. Use a screen cleaner for the screen, a can of compressed air, and some isopropyl alcohol. You will also need a bowl with soap and water.
Turn off the laptop and remove the battery to avoid shock during the cleaning process.
Remove the mouse, discs, CDs, USB, and anything else connected to your laptop.
Use a knife to remove the keys. Be careful so you do not damage the keys. You can also remove one key at a time while cleaning.
Fill a bowl with soap and water. Place the keys in the bowl and allow them to soak while you clean the rest of the laptop.
Used compressed air to clean the ports on the laptop.
Clean the other parts of the laptop except the screen, with a clean cloth and the alcohol.
Use a clean cloth and the screen clean to clean the screen. Spray some clean on the screen and gently wipe it off.
Clean the keys and allow them to dry before replacing them.
Allow the laptop to dry for a few hours.
Replace the keys back on the keyboard.
