How to Quote Snow Removal

Snow removal companies can make a great deal of money when they understand what expenses they have and how they can overcome them. Remember that the cost of certain items may increase, such as gas. This means that a snow removal company may need to calculate their prices once every year. When quoting snow removal, there are a number of factors to weigh.

Items needed:

  • Tape measure

  • Pen and Paper

  • Business cards

  • Visit each individual client, and check out the area that they’d like to have plowed. Use a tape measure to measure the total area where snow is going to be removed. Most snow removal services base their charges on how much area they’ll be plowing.

  • Determine how long it will take to finish the snow plowing job. Many companies charge an hourly labor rate. Ad this number to the current total, and document it using the pen and paper.

  • Figure out what resources will be used to complete the job. Charge the customer for any materials used such as gas and wear and tear on the plow and truck. Include the resource cost in the bid.

  • Find out what competitors around the area are charging for their services. A company usually needs to offer competitive prices in order to succeed.

  • Supply the customer with an itemized list of all of the expenses so they understand what they are being charged for. Add each item up, and put the total cost at the bottom of the bid before giving it to the customer.

  • Include a business card with the bid so the customer is able to get in touch with you or provide your information to other people.
