How to Remove Dry Ice
Dry ice is used for a number of useful and entertaining occasions, and the cleanup is virtually nonexistent. Dry ice is great for parties to provide a thick fog affect, especially if it is a Halloween party, because the fog can add an element of creepiness. With all of the uses that dry ice provides, it is still hazardous to your health if not handled properly.
- Place the dry ice in a well-ventilated room, such as a garage with the windows open or even outside. The dry ice will slowly dissipate until there is nothing left to clean up. When handling the dry ice, be sure to wear thick gloves so that the cold will not burn your hands. Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide, and any contact with your skin can cause severe frostbite.
- Use the ice to keep food fresh. If you have any ice left over after a party, you can use it to keep food and drinks cold while on a camping trip or at the beach. All you have to do is cover the dry ice and place it in a ice chest. This a great use of the ice because you will get more for your money.
- Use the extra ice to make fog in the bathroom. If your bathroom has a window, you can fill the bath tub and place the dry ice in the tub. Especially if you have younger children, they will love seeing the bathroom filled with fog. It is important to never leave young children or animals around the dry ice unattended because it can cause serious injuries.
