How to Set Up a 7.1 Speaker System
A 7.1 speaker system means that you have multiple speakers, in this case seven, that can be placed all around the seating area near your television. You also have a subwoofer that gives an added depth to your new sound system. Once you have all of the speakers connected to the receiver, you can watch movies with a realistic sound experience.
Items Needed:
- Speaker system
Instructions:
- Take all of the speakers out of the box and match each up with where it should go. You should have two front speakers, a front center speaker, and sets of both side- and rear-surround speakers. Your final speaker should be a subwoofer.
- Place each speaker where you want it. The two front speakers should be near the television, one on either side. The front center speaker can be above or below the television, but it should be as close to centered as possible. Place the side-surround speakers in a stable location to the sides of where you plan to view your television and place the rear-surround speakers behind your seating area.
- Plug each speaker into the receiver at its labeled location. Lay the wire so it is not in the way of a high traffic area.
- Plug the subwoofer into the receiver and connect it to a power supply. You can place the subwoofer wherever you like, but close to the television is likely to give you the best sound.
- Connect the receiver to your television and connect it to a power supply.
- Turn on the television and the receiver, and test the sound.
