How to Use a Bissell Proheat Carpet Cleaner
Don't spend money on a carpet cleaning crew. Instead, try using the Bissell Proheat carpet cleaner, in which you can either buy or rent. Your carpets will look brand new as this fantastic carpet cleaner will remove all the dirt and debris. Follow these steps to using the Bissell Proheat carpet cleaner.
- Vacuum the carpet. Thoroughly vacuum the carpet to remove any loose debris and dirt. Vacuum the carpet from north to south then east to west to remove all surface dirt from the carpet.
- Pre-treat high traffic areas. Spray the pre-treatment cleaner on the carpet. Use a sponge with a scrubby side to work the pre-treatment into the carpet. Use paper towels to soak up any excess pre-treatment solution.
- Fill the cleaning reservoirs. Remove the shampoo tank from the back of the Bissell Pro-heat carpet cleaner. Remove the water reservoir from the front of the carpet cleaner. Remove the top half of the tank to fill the water reservoir. Turn on the hot water and let it run until it is very hot. Never use boiling water in the Bissell Proheat carpet cleaner, as this will permanently damage the machine. Pour the water through the funnel to fill the internal water reservoir. Put the reservoir back on the carpet cleaner. Fill the shampoo container to the fill line with the special Bissell carpet cleaning shampoo. Put the shampoo container back on the carpet cleaner.
- Start cleaning the carpet. Turn on the cleaner and slowly move the cleaner up and down the carpet. Depress the trigger button on the handle; this will release a combination of the shampoo and water into the carpet. The brushes on the cleaner move in a circular motion to scrub the cleaner into the carpet.
- Release the trigger. This will stop the shampoo and the water and start the suction power on the vacuum to remove the shampoo and water from the carpet.
- Repeat the process. Repeat the process until the entire carpet is clean. Watch the water and the shampoo level. For a large room you may have to fill both containers twice to thoroughly clean the carpet.
